The performing arts are a form of live entertainment for an audience performed by multi-talented performers. It is filled with dancing, acting and singing which can be performed in a vast variety of ways. Performing arts is to entertain, educate, inspire and inform the audience.

Ever since a young age, I have loved performing. I love the excitement and thrill you get whilst performing and then the overwhelming feeling of proudness for yourself and what you have achieved. I love that you can make yourself and complete strangers happy at the same time.

From my peer's experiences, I feel that performing arts is beneficial to them as when performing, they mentioned that they feel lucky, fearless and confident. This shows me that performing is very beneficial for not only their physical health but their mental health too. My peers also mentioned that they feel watching a performance is very beneficial as well as it makes them feel amazed, inspired and have a moment of escape from reality. This tells me that by being a performer or an audience member, you can feel a range of emotions and be highly benefitted from it.

After this interview with my drama teacher, I have the anecdotal evidence that performing arts has benefitted their own career and where they are today. I know this because Tanya mentioned how performing arts made her grow as a person and gave her skills which she has carried with her all through her career to now. She also mentioned how being in the career she is in now has given her a variety of opportunities and led her down so many different paths in life to get her to where she is today, she said it’s a challenge which she would never regret.

Performing arts is beneficial for significant people like singers or actors as it can inspire future works of theirs for example Freddie Mercury once said that one of his earliest inspirations came from cabaret.

From my evidence, I have concluded that performing arts is highly beneficial to society because it brings people together no matter their age or interests. It opens a warm and loving circle for anyone who has the desire to be a part of it.
